My amazingly stylish Nana ‘Marjorie Florence Wright’ is the key inspiration behind the mikat label. From an early age I aspired to be just like my glamorous Nana one day! I spent many hours playing in her amazing wardrobes (yes that’s plural, not to mention the additional two garden sheds outside full of her clothing and accessories). Marjorie truly was the hippest and most stylish Nana in the world, teaching me that statement accessories are key, not to be afraid to be different, wear bold colour, jewellery is everything, quality leather and that ‘you make money to spend money because you can’t take it when you’re gone’. She was the lady in electric blue when everyone else was wearing black. Until recently she still sat up in the nursing home draped in amazing jewellery from her travels across the globe, leopard print fur and vintage red wayfarers. My love of fashion and accessories began with her and for that I am eternally grateful!
